Hi all.
If you are looking for a great way to close out the school year for your staff, teachers and kids, I have something you might be interested in. I was just at Double Adobe Elementary School in McNeal, Arizona and they loved it!
My current school assembly program is a reading motivation show and features both educational comedy magic and ventriloquism, so you get two performers in one (oh lucky you!). The show runs about 45-60 minutes. Among other content, children learn about our need to read for our brain to grow correctly, personal examples regarding how books are important to them, being responsible for their books, the excitement of reading, the importance of being persistent in reaching our reading goals, and are introduced to books related to magic and ventriloquism (I'll provide you with a bibliography so you can have the books on display if you have them or others currently in your shelves).
Fees vary depending on location, travel expenses, show content requests and other factors. Discounts are indeed available for booking multiple same day shows. For example, in Cochise county where I am, librarians, school staff and I often work together to provide two or more programs on a given day as part of a package arrangements. Other possibilities for venues are churches, schools, after school programs and the like. Costs are reduced by booking multiple shows. I can work with you to negotiate a package suited especially for you and your school.
Write to me at uniquelyspeaking@msn.com or call 520459-8339 if you'd like to talk with me about this.

Welcome to all of my librarian friends
Hi! John here. I deeply appreciate your taking the time to come here and use any resources I have compiled for you to use in your work with the library. Thanks for stopping by! I am collecting and posting resources for librarians under the title Resources for Librarians on the upper right side of this page. There are more titles and links for librarians and and others further down the right margin of this page.
I am currently scheduling dates for my 2008 Summer Reading Program called The Reading Bug Show!! Or..What's Bugging You???. The show runs about 45-50 minutes and show content supports the Arizona Summer Reading Program theme, Catch the Reading Bug. The show is half comedy magic, with the remainder featuring Crash, the buzzard (and maybe other friends too!) with his rapid-fire comedy and antics. Children are introduced to books used in the show. A bibliography is provided to librarians so they can have these library books on display at the show. Fees vary depending on location and show content requests. Discounts are available for mulitple bookings on the same day. As usual, my summer schedule is already filling up, so if you'd like to arrange a program please call me soon at 520-459-8339 or send an email to uniquelyspeaking@msn.com.
Thanks so much , John
